The Hart County Historical Museum is located in the Historic Chapline Building on 31W, just off town square in downtown Munfordville, Kentucky. The Hart County Historical Society, established in 1968, operate the Museum as an educational institution for preserving Hart County artifacts, history and genealogy. The Wayfarer Bed & Breakfast, formerly the Mammoth Cave Souvenier Shop, was built in 1933 and recently renovated to provide our guests with a relaxed down home atmosphere. The Floyd Collins Museum, located at the B&B is dedicated to the 1925 tale of Floyd Collins. Floyd Collins was the first person to explore the Sand Cave and became trapped within the rocks. The rescue attempt was widely publicized. Museum is open by appointment only.
